Tennessee: McMinn man charged in Monroe slaying

A McMinn County man has been charged with first degree murder in the shooting death Wednesday night of Monroe County resident Renee Roissier Miller.

Monroe County Detective Jennifer Bledsoe said late Thursday that Kenneth Erick Waldrop is being held without bond. She said he has made statements about the death but she would not provide further details until an autopsy is completed.

Authorities said Mr. Waldrop led them to a rural area east of Etowah, Tenn., where Ms. Miller’s body was found.
