Cleveland girls’ tennis season ends

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — The Cleveland girls’ tennis team had its season end at the hands of Memphis White Station in the semifinals of the Class AAA state tournament today. The Lady Spartans defeated the Lady Raiders 4-1.

Cleveland’s win came at No. 5 singles, where Esha Rock received a forfeit.

Singles: Lauren Thomas (WS) def. Catherine Jordan, 6-3, 7-6 (7-2); Kayla Jones (WS) def. Kelsey Cantrell, 6-0, 6-0; Kasey Spillman (WS) def. Maclain Yowarsky, 7-6 (8-6), 7-5; Maya Smith (WS) def. Patten Feehrer, 6-1, 6-3; Esha Rock (C) won by default.
