The Mocs are the leaders in the clubhouse.

The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga men’s golf team shot 8 over in its first round of the NCAA Championships today and Inverness in Toledo, Ohio.

The Mocs sit in first place among the 18 teams that had morning tee times. They lead San Diego by one and Ohio State by two. The other half of the field is playing this afternoon.

Senior Fredrik Qvicker led the Mocs with an even-par 71. Junior Derek Rende shot 73. Senior Jonathan Hodge and freshman Stephan Jaeger shot 74s. Senior Ben Rickett had the drop score of 78.

Northwestern’s Jonathan Bowers is the individual leader in the clubhouse after a 2-under 69.
