Kenco Logistic Services LLC has promoted Andy Park to senior vice president, operations, and Dean Arnold to senior vice president, public operations.
Mr. Park is responsible for managing 1.4 million square feet of warehouse space, and more than 1,000 employees in 10 facilities in eight states. He previously served as vice president, operations.
Mr. Arnold, who joined Kenco in 2006, is responsible for managing more than 4 million square feet of warehouse space in 15 facilities across the country. He will also continue to oversee the transition of the recently acquired American Distribution Centers.
Kenco is one of the nation’s leading third-party logistics providers.
Alexian Center receives award
Alexian Health and Rehabilitation Center has received an “Excellence in Action” award from My InnerView, a provider of performance-improvement solutions for the senior care profession.
The award was presented to Alexian for superior customer and work force satisfaction, a news release said.
My InnerView works with over 8,000 senior care providers throughout the United States.
“This honor speaks to the high level of commitment our staff has to the work they do each and every day,” said Jeff Ott, president and CEO of Alexian Village. “Alexian provides special care not only for those we serve but for those who serve and it is a tremendous honor to be recognized with this award.”
Davis & Davis Rugs gets carpet company
Davis & Davis Rugs Inc., a Chattanooga-based company, has announced it has bought the assets of Glen Eden Wool Carpet Inc. of Calhoun, Ga. Terms of the deal between the two privately held companies were not announced.
Davis & Davis said it plans to continue operating its Chattanooga manufacturing facility and the Glen Eden plant in Calhoun.
Davis & Davis President Dick Miller said Glen Eden Wool Carpet broadloom and rugs are found “at many of the most prestigious addresses in the world.”
He said adding “that tradition and prestige to our well-established Davis & Davis brand portfolio places us in a very strong competitive position.
“We’ll be in great shape as the floor covering market rebounds in the coming months.”

FSGBank opening new office Tuesday
FSGBank will celebrate Tuesday its opening of its newest Chattanooga office, located at 5188 Highway 153 in Hixson.
The celebration, which is being coordinated by the Chattanooga Area Chamber of Commerce, will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The bank’s Hixson team is led by Gina Crumbliss, who has more than 20 years of banking experience.
Haile elected director of bank
John G. Haile has become a director of SouthEast Bank & Trust.
He was in banking for 35 years before retiring in 2006. He had served as president of a community bank in Cleveland, Tenn. He is a graduate of Tennessee Technological University.
SouthEast Bank is based in Athens, Tenn., and has assets of $260 million.
Multicultural group celebrates 10 years
The Tennessee Multicultural Chamber of Commerce will hold its annual fundraiser on June 18 at which it will celebrate “10 years of economic empowerment.”
The event will take place beginning with a reception at 6 p.m. at the Chattanooga Convention Center.
“The American economy is an ever evolving entity which requires multiple levels of operations, which includes both big and small businesses, for it to remain effective and efficient,” said Chamber President Sherrie Gilchrist. “However, when the economy experiences a downturn, its small businesses are hit hardest because they receive very few incentives and perks from local, state and federal governments.”
She said, “We certainly need to recognize that 80 percent of companies doing business in the U.S. are small businesses. Therefore, this year and every year we will celebrate the economic engines in our community — large, small and micro.”

Jeff Raabe named to Rock City post
Jeff Raabe has joined the management team at See Rock City Inc. as director of operations.
Mr. Raabe is a graduate of Auburn Univeristy and the UNC Senior Executive Program.
He has worked in the commercial flooring industry for 23 years, including 11 years as vice president of sales and an officer at Collins & Aikman Floorcoverings Inc.
See Rock City is a hospitality and entertainment company that includes the Rock City Gardens attraction atop Lookout Mountain.
Platinum Financial announces additions
Brian Owens has become a vice president for Platinum Financial Funding and will be involved in managing and driving the loan closing process.
Mecalah Campbell has joined the team as a mortgage consultant.
Both will work out of the firm’s headquarters office in Chattanooga.
“With 12 years of experience providing loans in the local market and wide-ranging management responsibilities, Brian Owens brings a variety of skills to the table that we know will be vital in helping us meet the needs of all our customers,” said Brandon Born, partner of Platinum Financial Funding.
Mr. Owens is a Chickamauga native and is a graduate of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.
Platinum Financial originated in Nashville in 1998 as Platinum Financial Group under the direction of Chris Payne, president and owner.
The firm is now owned by Mr. Payne, Mr. Born and Matt Hamilton.
Self-storage business opens
Connie and Dale Smith have announced their opening of South Chattanooga Self Storage Inc. at 1500 E. 41st St.
The business is behind the Taco Bell on Rossville Boulevard, the owners said.
The self-storage business features 120 units. Its owners said they anticipate building a second phase of units once the first phase is fully occupied.
CBL to direct Patriot Place mall
CBL & Associates Properties Inc. has announced it will be partnering with Strategic Retail Advisors to provide landlord representative and consulting services for Patriot Place, a retail, dining and entertainment center in Foxborough, Mass.
CBL, a Chattanooga-based owner and developer of malls, said it was retained by NPP Development LLC, an affiliate of The Kraft Group, for the effort.
“We appreciate the confidence that the owners of Patriot Place have shown in CBL and look forward to collaborating with SRA on the project,” said CBL President Stephen Lebovitz. “While our Boston regional office will take the lead in this engagement, the entire CBL organization is excited to begin work on Patriot Place to maximize the opportunities the center offers for enhancement and growth.”
Patriot Place is adjacent to Gillette Stadium, home of the New England Patriots.
Attorney Crotteau presented honor
Richard Crotteau, member of Miller & Martin PLLC, has been awarded the Bruce C. Bailey Volunteer Lawyer of the Year on behalf of pro bono project and the pro bono committee of the Chattanooga Bar Association. He was saluted for his service to the project and to the Legal Aid of East Tennessee.
Miller & Martin is a Chattanooga-based regional law firm.
Hampton Inn has reopening
Hotel Equities of Atlanta recently celebrated the grand reopening of its 124-room Hampton Inn at 1000 Market St. in Dalton, Ga.
Debbie Parsons is the general manager of the lodging facility.
Hotel Equities bought the hotel last year from Chattanooga-based Hospitality Lodging Associates, which retained an ownership stake in the property. Hotel Equities also entered a long-term contract to manage the hotel.
“Although the property opened 20 years ago, it now looks and feels like a new hotel,” said Hotel Equities President and CEO Fred Cerrone. “It is a stand-out in our award-winning portfolio.”
