Law enforcement agencies join forces today to fight crime

Included in this article:      6 Comments

Several law enforcement agencies today are conducting a saturation consisting of traffic stops, patrol functions and serving warrants.

The Chattanooga Police Department, Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, U.S. Marshals, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, FBI and Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office began patrolling East Chattanooga, Highland Park and East Lake at 7 a.m. today and will continue through tonight, said Chattanooga police spokeswoman Officer Rebecca Royval in a news release.

A prostitution sting conducted Thursday also was part of the operation, she said.

Those arrested will be taken directly to the Hamilton County Jail.

saturation? prostitutes? If the cops want to make arrests and curb some crime they need to go to Nine Brothers at the corner of Central and 38th..(exact area where gun shots heard/blood puddle found earlier this week)and the neighborhood store at the corner of Central and Halsey (both in Alton Park) and arrest the thugs selling drugs in plain sight...there is a police precinct right down the road from this activity and cops must pass by it numerous times a day and KNOW what is going on! It is common knowledge....and what about truancy? they need to start picking up these school age thugs and making them and their parent(s) accountable! That is the problem with this generation - there is no respect for age or authority and no accountablility for their actions! The Arab countries have one practice that the US govt should employ and that is: if you are caught stealing they cut your hand off!

Why does law enforcement arrest prostitutes and their johns?
Because it's EASY, gets headlines, and gives law enforcement a reach-around with self-congratulations.

Arresting real criminals is difficult and requires intelligence, hard work, and a Mayor and Chief of Police not in the pockets of criminals and other politicians.

They arrest prostitutes and johns because the citizens in those neighborhoods who are afflicted with them want them to arrest them. Lets move them to harrystatel's neighborhood since he doesn't seem to mind.

I would legalize prostitution in a heartbeat. Put in back into red-light districts where the Baptists and Pentecostals can easily locate them.

Seriously, if a woman or man wants to sell what they have to someone else, it's not my business.

Want it off the streets as I do? Legalize it and it will go back into private homes and businesses (just like it is now where police and politicians protect those prostitutes who offer payoffs and free samples).

THE POLICE AND OTHER LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCIES NEEDS TO TARGET THE CRIMINALS THAT ARE SHOOTING, KILLING AND ROBBING PEOPLE. THAT IS MORE OF A PROBLEM THAN SEX! GET THE CRIMINALS THAT ARE CARRYING GUNS OFF THE STREETS THEN WE WILL GO AFTER THE REST! LET ME BE A POLICE CHIEF ONE DAY AND I WILL SHOW YOU SOME RESULTS! THEN LET ME BE THE JUDGE ONE DAY AND YOU WILL NOT SEE THE CRIMINALS ON THE STREETS FOR YEARS....MAYBE LIFE!!!!!!!!!!
