Hamilton County: Brooks criticizes city stormwater fee

Share/Bookmark This Page

County Commissioner John Allen Brooks this morning said he believes the public meeting on the city of Chattanooga’s water quality fee increase, scheduled for Thursday, is a “charade.”

Mr. Brooks criticized the city for short notice and setting the meeting at 1 p.m.

The meeting was publicized about two weeks ago.

County Mayor Claude Ramsey said he would ask city Mayor Ron Littlefield to exempt the county’s schools from paying the fee. He also encouraged residents and business owners to appeal their fees.
