Runner: Brandon Lord
The season went as well as could be expected for the Baylor senior. The University of Georgia commitment won three Chattanooga Cross Country League meets and the Division II-AA state championship. Most recently, he placed fifth in the Foot Locker South Regional to qualify for the national meet in San Diego.
Coach: Ryan Perry
In his fifth season at Collegedale Academy, Perry and the Eagles boys’ team earned the Region 3-A/AA championship, their fourth consecutive title. But as a Seventh-day Adventist school, Collegedale again couldn’t compete in the state meet, annually held on a Saturday.
“I thought we did real well this year,” Perry said. “We’re still young; the guys are all pretty consistent and peak towards the end of the year, and we did that again this year. It felt good to get the region again.”
