KNOXVILLE - After sitting through long technical testimony about Sarah Palin's e-mail getting hacked, a question from deliberating jurors was no surprise.
The federal jury in the felony case against 22-year-old David Kernell asked if unauthorized access to a computer in one of the charges "means only logging on," or are other steps involved.
U.S. District Judge Thomas Phillips told them, "It's up to you to determine the meaning of the term - the words - 'access to the computer.'"
After about six hours behind closed doors Tuesday in Knoxville, jurors are set for a second day of deliberations.
Defense attorney Wade Davies has said Kernell had no criminal intent. Prosecutors contend he was trying to derail Palin's campaign as the Republican vice presidential candidate in 2008.
