Mayor Littlefield files lawsuit to block recall effort

by Cliff Hightower

Chattanooga Mayor Ron Littlefield filed a lawsuit today in Circuit Court in Hamilton County to block the effort to recall him.

He also responded in a several-page letter that the recall effort is being conducted for the wrong reasons, and he stated his case for fighting back against the recall petititioners.

“This recall effort is a classic example of a dead-end path followed by a narrow minded fringe group fueled by misinformation and blinded by anger,” Littlefield wrote.

Littlefield said he believed the courts would find the recall effort flawed and side with him.

“However, if there is another election, be assured I will run,” he said.

I still think it is hilarious that he took an oath to uphold the City Charter and now he is filing a lawsuit to block a group who followed that same charter to the letter.

Arrogance? You betcha! Pure poltician? Oh yea!

Zach, I don't see qualities of leadership when the Mayor uses boorish name calling against his own citizens.

Progressive morons?? Progressives? Are you serious? Do you have ANY idea who is behind this recall?

Try the Chattanooga Tea Party and a few "concerned citizens". Jeez, do a little research, ok?

Recall Lawsuit

Who will pay the legal fees for the mayor's recall lawsuit? Surely that will not be charged to taxpayers and approved by the council. If not a tax payer expense who will pay the legal fees?

Did the mayor call at least 12,000 Chattanooga citizens narrow minded? This number doesn't include the city employees that were afraid to sign the petition.

The anger statement is correct but the anger is due to ongoing political abuse of power.

As a long time tax payer I resent being referred to as being in a "fringe group" because I agreed with an action the mayor doesn't like.

I agree, citizens get a lot of misinformation or no information. Was the property tax, sewer tax, storm water run off, permits, license and inspection increases misinformation? Recall advocate rumors?

Any citizen desiring to be well informed should try getting specific, complete and accurate details regarding the total inflow of funds to the city treasury and an itemization of spending. If People are misinformed the only way to correct that is to communicate better and accurately. A start may be following the county example of publicizing an agenda and details before their meeting.

The Chattanooga Tea Party is a bunch of progressive leftist that are posing as pissed off conservatives fighting in the recall against Littlefield.

Next time do your homework 1st because i am always on my job.

All local /State / Federal law enforcement here in the state of TN will back up what i just said with records about the group.

Nope you got the payroll part wrong Dave and your choir has hit a sour note.

BONK...BONK

Lets just say that i am person with certain connections who has the facts about these so called recall groups and they are not what they appear to be.

They are 3 progressive leftist groups with members from as far away as CA being a part of this pliot to break down the South for more radical activity.

The long term plan is that the progressive movement by the election process and radical activty can push there agenda's more into the Southern fabric and change the make up and culture of this region.

The recall was done because the people in Chattanooga have had enough of Littlefields high taxes, bad spending habits and many more reasons. The people of Chattanooga have spken to recall him because they want to change there goverment for the better.
