Chattanooga Mayor Ron Littlefield filed a lawsuit today in Circuit Court in Hamilton County to block the effort to recall him.
He also responded in a several-page letter that the recall effort is being conducted for the wrong reasons, and he stated his case for fighting back against the recall petititioners.
"This recall effort is a classic example of a dead-end path followed by a narrow minded fringe group fueled by misinformation and blinded by anger," Littlefield wrote.
Littlefield said he believed the courts would find the recall effort flawed and side with him.
"However, if there is another election, be assured I will run," he said.
