Woman in hospital after suicide call to police

A woman was transported to an area hospital after she first told police she wanted them to kill her, then told them she did not want to die and wanted help.

According to a news release from the Chattanooga Police Department, the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office received a call Thursday night to respond to 974 Shadow Lane regarding a woman who said she wanted police to kill her.

When deputies arrived on the scene, the complainant was standing in the back yard of the home and was seen with a pistol in her hand.

The SWAT team was activated to respond while deputies kept the woman under surveillance.

After a short time the woman called 911 again and said she did not want to die and she wanted police to help.

Contact was made with the woman, and she was transported to an area hospital by Hamilton County Emergency Medical Services.
