TIME2SAVE: Double coupons

  • photo

Q: Why do some stores double coupons and others don't?

A: Stores that double coupons do that as in incentive to get your business (a few even triple). For coupon users, we definitely take that into consideration when we are picking the store we will shop at. Usually the double applies only to certain coupon values. For instance, Bi-Lo doubles coupons up to 60 cents, Publix and Kroger double up to 50 cents every day, and Fred's doubles up to 70 percent on Saturdays only. Ingles also doubles, but there are restrictions. The double is not reimbursed to the store, though. Each store pays that amount out of its marketing budget.
