art workshop

The McMinn County Living Heritage Museum in Athens, Tenn., is offering a workshop Saturday, using art to address the symptoms of youth with autism spectrum disorders. The workshop is free. Ages 7 and younger, 10 a.m.-12 noon; ages 8 and older, 1-3 p.m. Call 745-0329 to register.

Health fair

Free health screenings for uninsured adults, 8:30 a.m.-12 p.m. Saturday at Red Bank Baptist Church Fellowship Hall, 4000 Dayton Blvd. Screenings include diabetes (blood sugars), blood pressure and arrhythmia, osteoporosis (bone density), mammograms (advance reservations preferred, call 495-4040), vascular ultrasounds, vision and glaucoma, weight counseling with BMI, spirometry and pulse oximetry and H1N1 immunizations. Benefit walk

Partnership for Families, Children and Adults will hold an event April 17 for men to walk one mile in women's high-heeled shoes through Coolidge Park to protest rape, sexual assault and gender violence. Proceeds from walk will benefit the Partnership's Sexual Assault Center violence prevention efforts and rape services in greater Chattanooga. Men, women and children are welcome to walk. Registration is $25 for men requiring shoe rental and must register by April 1 for shoe availability; $20 for men with own shoes, $10 for women; children under 12 are free.
