Lookouts win, then lose at Carolina

ZEBULON, N.C. -- Chattanooga's hopes of taking two straight at Carolina were dashed when the Mudcats rallied for a 9-7 victory behind two-RBI doubles to center field by Sean Henry in the sixth inning and Jake Kahaulelio in the seventh, each occurring with two out.

The Lookouts (14-14) benefited from Corey Smith's three-run homer to left in the first inning and by two Mudcats errors and a balk in the third to take a 5-1 lead before Carolina's comeback.

The Lookouts quickly won the suspended game from Thursday night, taking a 6-5 lead in the top of the 11th inning when Alex Garabedian scored on a one-out wild pitch by Joseph Krebs. David Pfeiffer then retired Carolina in order.

* Next game: Game four of a five-game series at Carolina is tonight at 6:15.

* Pitchers: Mario Alvarez (3-2, 4.38 ERA) is scheduled to start for the Lookouts, with Daryl Thompson (0-2, 3.63) scheduled for the Mudcats.
