Georgia church van flips, killing 4 and injuring 13

BLAKELY, Ga. - Authorities say a church van has rolled over in southwestern Georgia, killing at least four and injuring 13 others.

Georgia State Patrol spokesman Gordy Wright said in an e-mail that 17 people were aboard the van when it rolled over on a highway south of Blakely in Early County on Sunday. No other vehicles were involved.

Wright said troopers believe the driver lost control after a tire on the bus failed. The van was carrying a church group from Columbus.

Troopers tell WALB-TV in Albany that the van crossed a median and flipped several times, ejecting the passengers. The station says some of the victims were young children.
