Weight Watchers

Weight Watchers is offering a "Mommy and Me" meeting for parents of young children. Meetings will offer weight loss tips, recipes and solutions focusing on the specific needs of parents of young children. Meetings are held 10 a.m. with weigh-in at 9:30 a.m. on Mondays at the Hixson Weight Watchers center, 1966 Northpoint Blvd. For more information, e-mail info@wecountpoints.com.


Postpartum stress

Christy Falco, M.S., a licensed martial and family therapist, will lead a group session for women experiencing postpartum stress/depression. Lung disease

Alexian Brothers Senior Ministries will host a Lunch and Learn on the topic of lung disease with Dr. Michael Czarnecki, 12 noon, Tuesday, at the Senior Neighbors building, 250 East 10th St. The focus will be on topics as living with lung disease, COPD and lung cancer. RSVP to 755-6100.


Weight management

NAMI convention

Dr. Anuj Chandra, certified sleep specialist, will present a workshop on the relationship of sleep disorders and mental illness on Friday at the 2010 state convention of NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) Tennessee, a volunteer, non-profit, self-help organization composed of the families and friends of persons who have mental illness, professionals in the mental health field and consumers of mental health services.
