Volkswagen Group has set a first-quarter record with sales of 1.97 million vehicles delivered between January and March, up 13.7 percent from a year ago.
In North America, sales rose 17.9 percent to 143,900 vehicles in the period, the company reported today.
Sales chief Christian Klingler said that developments in the first quarter were “excellent.”
“Growth regions such as China, India or Russia again produced a strong performance. And delivery figures remained high in the mature markets in western Europe and North America as well,” he said.
