Felix Perez’s solo home run to right with two out in the ninth inning off Chattanooga reliever Josh Lindblom enabled Carolina to beat the Lookouts 4-3 and square the series.
The Lookouts (10-7) trailed 3-0 in the seventh but tied it when Scott Van Slyke’s homer to left-center scored Anthony Jackson and Brian Cavazos-Galvez.
Van Slyke posted another 2-for-4 outing and is now hitting .404.
Game three of a five-game series at Carolina is tonight at 7:15.
Michael Antonini (2-1, 1.53) is scheduled to start for the Lookouts, with James Avery (0-3, 6.13) scheduled for the Mudcats.
