Golf Mocs sign Scot

University of Tennessee at Chattanooga men’s golf coach Mark Guhne is recruiting across the ocean again.

Liam Johnston of Dumfries, Scotland, signed scholarship papers to join the UTC program this fall as the Mocs’ lone addition for the year.

“We identified Liam early as a difference-maker for our program,” Guhne said. “He has a very strong resume and ranked No. 2 in Scotland’s boys order of merit. His extensive junior experience will serve him well as he continues his career here.”

Johnston was the runner-up at the Scottish Boys Championship earlier this month. Last year, he reached the round of 16 in the national boys’ championship.

Johnson will join Chris Robb as Scottish natives playing for UTC and will be the fifth European on the team.
