For months, the 10-year-old girl hid her rape even as proof grew inside her womb, a prosecutor said Monday.

Unbeknown to her family, the child was seven-months pregnant with her rapist's child before she finally disclosed what her attacker said he would kill her for revealing — that a 21-year-old acquaintance had raped her in early 2010 while spending a few days at her family's home, Assistant District Attorney General Charme Knight told Special Judge Jon Kerry Blackwood.

"(James Wallace Davenport Jr.) told her if she did tell (about the rape) he would kill her," Knight said.

Davenport admitted Monday that not only did he rape and impregnate the young girl, but he sought to make good on his threat to kill her if exposed, soliciting an undercover Knox County Sheriff's Office detective to kill the girl, her fetus and her family even as he sat behind bars awaiting trial for her rape, Knight said.

Why no picture of this dispicable criminal to go along with the story? Oops! He's not brown and from south of the border, and he's not black? The ship'em back to__crowd will have to bypass on this one.

Who wouldn't welcome this fine lad into their family? What a loser! The parents need to seriously reflect upon their thought processes and how they welcomed this guy into their home. I hope the young girl will receive proper counseling. She will need it.

what kind of monster would do this to an innocent child. Do not blame the parents. These child molesters trick the families to get at the child. This child's life is in danger. The parents must relocate and hide this poor child after this trial. If this monster gets out he may hurt this girl.

This animal needs to be hanging at the end of a rope. And 01centare, what the hell does anything else have do with this horrific crime no matter who committed it.
