Man drowns in Watts Bar Lake

A 57-year-old Harriman, Tenn., man has drowned in Watts Bar Lake in Meigs County, county dispatchers said.

A call came into the Meigs County dispatch at 5:55 p.m. from boaters who said they found a man in the water.

The dispatcher said the callers couldn’t lift the body because it was too heavy, so they put a life preserver on him.

Update: The man has been identified.
