Fiery crash closes I-75 S in Bradley County, one dead

BRADLEY COUNTY, TN. - A fiery crash in Bradley County has shut down the southbound lanes of Interstate 75.

Evie West, spokeswoman for the Cleveland Police Department, says an unidentified driver hit a city officer's patrol car at a gas station and took off. The officer managed to get the tag number from the suspect's vehicle.

West says the driver tried hitting another patrol car while fleeing the scene, before he crashed into a concrete pillar, supporting an overpass.

There was one fatality in the crash, a Tennessee Highway Patrol spokeswoman confirmed to the Times Free Press.
