BRADLEY COUNTY, TN. - A fiery crash in Bradley County has shut down the southbound lanes of Interstate 75.

Evie West, spokeswoman for the Cleveland Police Department, says an unidentified driver hit a city officer's patrol car at a gas station and took off. The officer managed to get the tag number from the suspect's vehicle.

West says the driver tried hitting another patrol car while fleeing the scene, before he crashed into a concrete pillar, supporting an overpass.

Was this idiot inspired by the walmart parking lot robber who hit a police cruiser and got away?

This crash is almost in the exact same spot where that crazy lady stole that one patrol car back May. Remember? She was walking with her kids and she tried to stab the officer so he shot at her when she got into his car. I guess he thought if he scratched the patrol cars paint they would let him get away but that only works in Chattanooga. In Cleveland they shoot to stop the threat instead of let them get away.

I should move to Cleveland... I like it when criminals are stopped BEFORE they hurt more people.

You all have no idea what you are talking about. This was my baby brother who was killed. He was a very troubled soul who was tormented and plagued for years. He NEVER would have hurt anyone, he just wanted the pain to end. He is now at peace with my dad where he always wanted to be. You should stop and think before you make comments about situations you have no idea about!

Brain was a good man, samaritian, and always a friendly smile & laugh. he was not only a good person but a good friend. He will be sadly missed. My prayers are with his family, friends, and loved ones. "God only takes the best"

It is so easy to cast judgement when it is not someone you love. Brian was loved by so many. He would have given his life for those he loved. I pray those horrible words are never said of those you love. "Judge NOT lest ye be judged". Brian would never have judged you. He was a gentle spirit with so much love to give. Even so come quickly Lord Jesus!
