Last meeting: The Mocs will be a historical footnote after this one because they'll be the first team the Cornhuskers played as a member of the Big Ten. Nebraska is ranked No. 11 in the Associated Press preseason poll.

Sept. 10 Jacksonville State

Series Record: UTC leads 25-10

Last meeting: The Mocs had a 17-0 lead in the third quarter at JSU last season before the Gamecocks rallied for a 21-17 win. Jacksonville State has won four straight in the series.

Sept. 17 Eastern Kentucky

Series Record: Series tied 2-2-1

Last meeting: Highlighted by an 80-yard touchdown catch, Mocs wideout Joel Bradford shredded the Colonels' defense last season with 11 receptions for a school-record 254 yards in a 42-24 UTC win.

Sept. 24 Appalachian State

Series record: Appalachian State leads 24-10

Last meeting: In the 2010 season opener, the Mountaineers outscored the Mocs 28-13 in the fourth quarter for a 42-41 win. After scoring with 51 seconds left, UTC went for the win but the two-point attempt failed.

Oct. 1 The Citadel

Series record: UTC leads 26-16-2

Last meeting: The Bulldogs are in year two of the triple option attack and should be able to hold on to the ball better than last season when they led the FCS with 23 fumbles lost. UTC won 28-10 last year.

Oct. 8 Georgia Southern

3 p.m., Paulson Stadium, Statesboro, Ga

TV/Radio: PBS/105.1 FM

Series Record: Georgia Southern leads 20-4

Last meeting: UTC's 35-27 win over GSU last year was playedin front of a season-high crowd of 17,414 at Finley Stadium. Georgia Southern went on to reach the semifinals of the playoffs.

Oct. 15 Western Carolina

Series Record: UTC leads 21-16

Last meeting: The Mocs tried to beat themselves last season at WCU with four turnovers and some sloppy defense late but held on for an ugly 27-21 win.

Oct. 22 Elon

3 p.m., Rhodes Stadium, Elon, N.C.

Series Record: Elon leads 6-2

Last meeting: In a game last season that UTC had to have, the Mocs gave up a bunch of big plays on defense and quarterback B.J. Coleman was picked off five times. The last of the inteceptions was returned for a touchdown to give Elon the lead for good after UTC rallied from 35-14 down to tie the game.

Oct. 29 Furman

2 p.m., Finley Stadium, Chattanooga

Series Record: Furman leads 26-14

Last meeting: Lost in the hoopla after UTC's stunning 36-28 come-from-behind win at Furman last season - the Mocs trailed 28-10 entering the fourth quarter - was that the win was the program's first in the series since 1994.

Nov. 5 Samford

3 p.m., Seibert Stadium, Birmingham, Ala.

Radio: 105.1 FM

Series Record: UTC leads 24-9-3

Last meeting: The Mocs' most impressive performance of 2010 was a 48-14 drubbing of the Bulldogs. B.J. Coleman needed just 12 completions to throw for 319 yards and four touchdowns.

Nov. 19 Wofford

2 p.m., Finley Stadium, Chattanooga

Radio: 105.1 FM

Series Record: Wofford leads 9-8

Last meeting: With a playoff spot on the line, UTC went to Wofford last season and got steamrolled. The Terriers dominated the first quarter and cruised to a 45-14 win.
