The pedestrian killed Saturday on Birchwood Pike has been identified as a 23-year-old Harrison man.

Tony D. Rudd was killed between 10:30 and 11 p.m. Saturday, said Janice Atkinson, spokeswoman for the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office. He was struck by a 2000 Jeep Cherokee driven by 47-year-old Clarence Duncan, she said.

Witnesses told authorities that, before the accident, Rudd was seen running in front of their vehicles in the middle of the road.

Rudd died from injuries sustained in the crash, she said.
