'It's a Wonderful Life' gets 'On Air' signal

Tennessee Valley Theatre, 184 W. Jackson Ave., in Spring City, Tenn., will present "It's a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play" over the next two weekends.

Inspired by the classic American film "It's a Wonderful Life," the stage production is performed as a 1940s-era live radio broadcast in front of a studio audience. The actors perform the dozens of characters in the radio play as well as produce the sound effects.

Featured in the cast are Steve Orender, Anessa VanHorn, Clyde Armstrong, Kathy Soja, Thomas Rodgers, Preston Clay, Jim Hevelone, Hunter Walden, Patty Jackson, Abby Satler, Ashlyn Marler, Ava Fletcher and Nina Fletcher. Karen Slikker directs.

Play-only performances are scheduled at 7:30 p.m. today and Dec. 9 and at 2 p.m. Sunday and Dec. 11. Tickets are $8.

Dinner-theater performances start at 6:30 p.m. Saturday and Dec. 10. Tickets are $18.
