Four accountants join HHM CPA

Four new accountants have joined the Chattanooga CPA firm of Henderson Hutcherson & McCullough, PLLC.

Randy Dummer joins HHM from Baker Tilly Virchow Krause, LLP, in Appleton, Wis. With more than 20 years of experience, Dummer will serve in the audit practice of HHM.

In his previous job, Dummer led an audit practice of 700 engagements, training 200 accountants in nine offices. He was also responsible for the commercial and retail audit practice in the Appleton office.

As a discussion leader for the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Dummer taught seminars across the country to other CPAs on accounting and audit topics, including courses on employee benefit plan audits, accounting and audit updates, compilations and reviews, and services to automobile dealerships. He was awarded the Outstanding Discussion Leader Award by the AICPA in 2008, 2009 and 2010.

Dummer earned an accounting degree from the University of Wisconsin at La Crosse. He and his wife, Megan, have two children and have relocated to Ooltewah.

Todd Solomon will serve as a senior tax manager at HHM. Prior to joining the firm, he served more than 20 years at a regional CPA firm. Solomon received both his master's and bachelor's of administration degree from the University of Tennessee.

Tammy Jacobs, who is also serving in the tax department of HHM, previously served as a manager in the tax and accounting services department at Cherry, Bekaert & Holland in Atlanta. She graduated with a bachelor's of administration degree in accounting from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.

David Roberts, another new member of HHM's tax division, previously was a a tax senior at an area accounting firm. He earned an accounting degree from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.

Kelly, Dutton certified planners

Bryan Kelly and Adam Dutton, financial advisers at Ameriprise Financial in Chattanooga, have fulfilled qualifications as certified financial planners.

At Ameriprise, they are responsible for tailoring financial plans that construct a road map for future success in today's economy.

As certified financial planners, they have met the rigorous experience and ethical requirements of the CFP board, successfully completed financial planning coursework and passed the CFP certification examination.

Surgery center opens in Dalton

The North Georgia Surgery and Comprehensive Breast Center marked the grand opening of its new Dalton office at 1504 N. Thornton last week.

Serving the surgical needs of North Georgia residents for the past 15 years, the surgical practice is staffed by Dr. Rod Rodriguez and Dr. David Barton Waters.

The surgeons specialize in the treatment of breast disease and cancer, gallbladder disorders, appendicitis, thyroid and colon cancers.
