Hypodermic needles, syringes found in clothing at North Georgia Wal-Mart

CARTERSVILLE, Ga. (AP) - Additional syringes and needles have turned up in clothing at a Cartersville Wal-Mart where four such incidents were reported last month.

The Rome News-Tribune reports Bartow County Sheriff Clark Millsap says that a report filed Monday shows a customer purchased a pair of pants over the Black Friday weekend and found the needle when the pants were first worn this weekend.

In a second report Monday, a shopper said Monday she found a syringe in a pair of men's lounging pants.

After investigators arrived, a store manager found a syringe in another pair of pants.

No injuries were reported.

In two of the cases last month, hypodermic needles pierced the skin of customers, who were given emergency medical care to prevent the possible spread of disease.
