Woman in hospital after seizure while driving

Follow the latest Cleveland news on Twitter

An elderly woman had an apparent seizure this afternoon while driving in Bradley County, police said.

The woman was taken to the hospital, where she is now recovering, sheriff’s office spokesman Bob Gault said in a news release.

Bradley County Deputy Sheriff Tim Bohannon saw the woman’s car run through a red light at the intersection of APD 40 and Treasury Drive, Gault said.

Bohannon activated his lights and siren but the woman’s car didn’t stop, so he pulled alongside her car and saw that she appeared to be unconscious, Gault said.

The deputy pulled in front and used his patrol car to stop the woman’s car. His patrol car suffered minimal damage, Gault said.

That's my brother in law and let me assure you, he's one of the good guys. A heart of gold, a policeman in it for the right reason...to protect & serve. Proud much? Heck yes!
