A Chattanooga lounge that was the site of a double stabbing last month will not be able to sell beer over New Year's weekend.

The Chattanooga Beer and Wrecker Board unanimously voted Thursday to suspend T&B Lounge's license for three days starting Dec. 30.

T&B, at 2407 Glass St., faced the Beer Board after being accused of operating a disorderly place.

On Nov. 29 at 11:20 p.m., police found one man in the lounge's parking lot and one in the bar. Both had been stabbed in the abdomen and lower back and were treated at Erlanger hospital, according to the incident report.

The victims were severely intoxicated and could not provide suspect information at the time, Chattanooga police Officer Colton Krumrie told Beer Board members.

Two men later were arrested in the incident, police spokeswoman Sgt. Jerri Weary said in a news release.

Police said calls to T&B are not common, though Krumrie said he's had calls about the area outside, which also is near Sandy's Liquor Store.

"I've had issues with it on and off," Krumrie said.

T&B Manager Thomas Williams told the board the stabbings were related to a fight that started after the lounge closed at 11 p.m. The two victims had been drinking since 5:30 or 6 p.m., he said.

Police said the stabbing report didn't come from a lounge employee. Williams said he didn't dial 911 because he was trying to help the victims. His daughter - Trina Fugh, who owns T&B - said Williams didn't call because there of the commotion.

Beer Board member Christopher Keene said T&B's handling of the incident broke down because nobody from the business called police.

Later in the meeting, the Beer Board elected Keene its new chairman.

A business agent for the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees, Keene said he has been on the city board for five or six years.

He also is chairman of the Hamilton County Beer Board, which he has served on for about 30 years.

James Hobbs was elected vice chairman, and Phil Sallee was elected secretary.
