Lee romps past Point by 22

In the consolation game Saturday of the Young Harris College men's basketball tournament, Lee's Flames beat Point 100-78 as Ryan Westbrooks scored 22 points, Patrick Shaughnessy had 20 points and nine rebounds and Alex Wells added 17 points.

Josh Henley added 14 rebounds with 12 points and Tyrone Caldwell had seven assists and three steals for the Flames (6-3), directed by assistant coaches Paul Cretton and Frank Davis for the second day in a row.

Bryan's Lions improved to 5-10 with a 79-67 home win over Berea behind 22 points from Lavonte Henderson and 18 from Rob Riley. T.J. Smith scored 14 points with four 3s, and Tim Fortenberry added 11.

Tennessee Wesleyan improved to 8-7 with a 96-66 victory at Brescia University.

Georgia Northwestern's Bobcats won Friday over the Bryan junior varsity, 76-71, but lost 75-74 to the Tennessee Temple jayvees Saturday in a tournament at Covenant College. Randy Boyd had 19 points and 11 rebounds, Alex Miller scored 14 points and Bud Todd had 13 points, 10 rebounds and three blocks in Friday's win. Ben Patton also scored 13 points, and Matt Woods had nine rebounds, eight assists and four steals. Calvin Smith had 19 points for the young Lions.

Temple's Douglas Slade got the winning putback after his 17th rebound Saturday, giving him 13 points to go with 14 by Antwaun Ruise. Miller had 26 points and 13 rebounds and Boyd and Patton scored 13 each for GNTC.
