The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga women’s basketball team had to hold off Western Carolina tonight at McKenzie Arena.
After leading by 16 points early in the second half, UTC held on for a 64-58 win to remain unbeaten in Southern Conference play. Alex Black went 10-for-10 from the free-throw line in the final six minutes and scored a career-high 15 points.
The win was the fifth in a row for UTC (7-3, 3-0 SoCon), while it was the fifth straight loss for the Catamounts (4-7, 0-4). UTC went 1 of 13 from the 3-point in the second half, while WCU was 5 of 12.
