Chattanooga Police Department Public Information Officer Sgt. Jerri Weary has announced the formation of a fund for Donamiche Brewer at the TVA Credit Union.Weary said those seeking to contribute money can do so by going to the credit union and making donations specifically to the fund.

Kenneth Dewayne ColemanIn the weeks leading up to the beating death of a 4-year-old boy, Tennessee Department of Children Services already had opened an investigation into allegations of abuse in the home.
Molly Sudderth, communications director for DCS, said after the death of 4-year-old TyReke Evans Monday, his 3-year-old brother, Donamiche Brewer, is now in protective custody.
Sudderth would not release the exact date the investigation was opened, but said it was opened this month. She would not say how many referrals the state agency received about the care of the boys by their 23-year-old mother, Patricia Brewer.
Brewer and her boyfriend, 21-year-old Kenneth D. Coleman, both face charges of first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder and two counts of aggravated child abuse. Both are scheduled to go before Hamilton County General Sessions Court Judge David Bales on Dec. 28.
Donamiche remains hospitalized in the intensive care unit at Children's Hospital at Erlanger after he was severely dehydrated and had liver damage. Upon arriving at the hospital, both medical staff noticed both boys were covered in bruises and abrasions on the hands, abdomen, arm and flanks. Evans was pronounced dead.
