A home was completely destroyed early this morning, according to Chattanooga Fire Department.
Firefighters responded to a structure fire at 3710 Chief Van Lane at 3:30 a.m. When they arrived they found most of the home was already engulfed in flames, a news release stated.
No one was inside the residence, according to the statement.
The fire not only destroyed the home but also a car, resulting in damages of about $110,000. Investigators believe the fire started in the garage. It's unclear what caused the fire.
The case remains under investigation, fire officials said.
