Alabama hangs on to beat Tennessee 65-60 in OT

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - JaMychal Green scored six of Alabama's 10 free throws in overtime as the Crimson Tide beat Tennessee 65-60 on Saturday.

Alabama (15-7, 7-1 Southeastern Conference), which has already exceeded its conference win total from last season, owns the SEC's best league record and is off to its best start in league play since 2002.

Andrew Steele scored the Crimson Tide's final field goal with 4:29 left in regulation, and the Vols (15-8, 4-3) got the final six points. Tobias Harris hit a layup with 43 seconds left to tie it at 55 and force overtime.

Tennessee struggled with ball control in overtime, and the Tide was a perfect 10 for 10 on free throws.

Tony Mitchell scored a career-high 24 points for Alabama, which shot 66.7 percent in the first half (16 of 24) and led by as many as 11 points in the second.

Harris led Tennessee with 19 points and 11 rebounds.
