Two people were killed Tuesday in a two-car accident on state Highway 60 in the Birchwood community, according to the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office.
At 5:15 p.m. deputies called to investigate a crash in the 6800 block of Highway 60.
A 2000 GMC truck traveling east veered across the center line and struck a 1996 Ford Mustang, according to Janice Atkinson, spokeswoman for the sheriff's office. The head-on crash killed the driver and passenger in the Mustang.
The driver of the truck was transported to Erlanger hospital by Hamilton County Emergency Medical Service with nonlife-threatening injuries, Atkinson said.
There was no indication at the scene of either alcohol or speed being a factor, although the investigation is ongoing and being handled by the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office Traffic Division, Atkinson said.
No names were released late Tuesday pending the notification of next of kin, Atkinson said.

Maybe some spooky monster is running out of the woods and pushing them off the road when no one is looking.
Or maybe there's too much nascar on your tv, and not enough practicing behind the wheel before we go out and try to drive like (fill in obligatory drivers name here).
