An 18-year-old male and a 16-year-old girl are dead after a car wreck Thursday evening.
Timothy Katafias, 18, and a 16-year-old girl were killed when their car went off Fairview Road near Chickamauga Lake about 5 p.m., said Janice Atkinson, spokeswoman for the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office
The name of the 16-year-old is not being released because she is a juvenile, Atkinson said.
A third passenger, Craig Albert Lemay, 18, is in critical condition at Erlanger hospital, she said.
Investigators said the three were traveling north in a 1997 Mercury Grand Marquis when they crashed near 6559 Fairview Road. The female was found dead in the vehicle, and Katafias died at Erlanger hospital, Atkinson said.
This is the second fatal traffic accident in the county this week. Two died in a three-car accident on state Highway 60 in the Birchwood community Tuesday night.
