The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga women’s basketball team had a couple of chances in the final 9.2 seconds but couldn’t hit the game-winning shot against Appalachian State tonight at McKenzie Arena.
Appalachian State’s Kelsey Sharkey scored on a putback with 11 seconds left to lift the Mountaineers to a 57-56 win and a share of the Southern Conference regular-season title.
The Lady Mocs’ streak of 11 straight SoCon titles, meanwhile, is officially over. Kylie Lambert led UTC with 11 points and 9 rebounds.
