A man posted a $15,000 bond Tuesday after he was accused of giving women black eyes in three separate incidents, according to records.
Charles L. Shelton, 20, of Chattanooga, was arrested Tuesday at a duplex in the 5200 block of Dorsey Street after Chattanooga Police Department officers received an anonymous tip.
Shelton had a total of three warrants for his arrest, according to records. He was charged with two counts of domestic assault, one count of aggravated assault and one count of criminal impersonation stemming from a separate incident, records show.
Shelton could not be reached for comment.
Police records say that on Jan. 28, Shelton called the mother of his child to see if the child needed milk. She told him yes and, when he arrived in the 600 block of Maple Street Court, he saw her phone had a call from another man. He became upset and allegedly struck her in the eye.
On Feb. 5, police were called to Northgate Mall after the same woman said she was approached by Shelton after she got out of her car. The two exchanged words and he reportedly struck her in the right eye, knocking her to the ground, according to reports.
On Feb. 12, another woman told Shelton she no longer wanted to be with him. He reportedly made threats stating he would "hurt her," according to the report, and police found her standing in the middle of Chandler Avenue with a swollen right eye.
This isn't the first time Shelton has faced assault charges.
On March 31, 2010, he pleaded guilty to facilitation to commit aggravated assault in connection with a robbery. He received a suspended sentence of four years, according to court records. On Feb. 19, 2009, he was arrested on a charge of domestic assault and the charge was later dropped, according to court records.
Shelton's next court appearance is scheduled for Feb. 21 before Judge Christine Mahn Sell.
