ELON, N.C.—Kayla Christopher scored 21 points and fellow guard Tenisha Townsend made seven free throws in the final minute to help the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga women's basketball team to a 73-63 win Monday night at Elon.

Christopher hit four 3-pointers and grabbed eight rebounds. Kylie Lambert added 12 points and five rebounds, while Taylor Hall scored all eight of her points in the final 8:30.

Whitney Hood, the SoCon's leading scorer, sat out much of the first half with two fouls and fouled out of the game with 1:28 to play. She finished with five points, two rebounds and four turnovers in 20 minutes of action.

Ali Ford led Elon (17-11, 11-8) with 13 points.
