A man has been charged with aggravated assault and possession of drug paraphernalia after a stabbing incident yesterday at 7626 Boriss Drive, Chattanooga Police say.

Michelle Harrison told police her 27-year-old brother, William Harrison, kicked in her bedroom door around 4 a.m. and attacked her boyfriend, Marin Macias, with a knife and screwdriver.

Michelle said her brother stabbed Macias in the back and cut his head.

Macias wrestled William down until police arrived, Sgt. Jerri Weary of the Chattanooga Police said.

Police found drug paraphernalia near William at the scene, she said.

"[He] admitted that the paraphernalia was his and that he had been smoking all night," Weary said in a news release. "He further stated that he was trying to kill Macias but didn't say why."

Macias was transported to Erlanger Hospital where he was treated and released for non-life threatening injuries, police say.
