July Fourth will be celebrated a day early at Patriotism at the Post in Fort Oglethorpe, Ga.

The sixth annual celebration, to be held at the Polo Field on Barnhardt Circle, is hosted by the Fort Oglethorpe Tourism Association, Children's Hospital and Erlanger, said Chris McKeever, executive director at the 6th Cavalry Museum in Fort Oglethorpe.

The celebration will feature music, games, patriotic fellowship and fireworks. Children's activities include a Patriotic Kids Contest for children 10 and younger who are dressed in creative red, white and blue fashions.

Winners of a Times Free Press coloring contest will be announced at 7:30 p.m. and three prizes awarded.

The 45-member L'Abri Symphony Orchestra, directed by Tracy Coats, will perform, as will the Sky Hopes Quartet. The Scenic City Chorus will lead a patriotic sing-along.

A fireworks display by Atlanta Pyrothenics will conclude the activities.

The event is free to the public though there will be a $5 parking fee at the Polo Field. Handicapped parking is free.
