KODAK, Tenn. - Nelson Perez's two-run home run to left-center field in the eighth inning Monday night sparked a 5-4 Southern League victory for the Tennessee Smokies against the Chattanooga Lookouts.

Perez's blast broke a 2-2 tie and helped enable Tennessee to avoid getting swept in the four-game set. The Smokies went up 5-2 later in the eighth when Lookouts relief pitcher Josh Wall committed a two-out throwing error.

Chattanooga (12-7) scored twice in the ninth inning, one run coming on a Griff Erickson RBI single to center.

The Lookouts are off today, and game one of a six-game home series against Mobile at AT&T Field is Wednesday night at 7:15. Nathan Eovaldi (6-4, 2.62 ERA) is scheduled to start on the mound for the Lookouts, with Jarrod Parker (7-6, 4.38) scheduled for the BayBears.
