Chattanooga police are searching for the man they believe shot a 25-year-old father of five in his doorway.

Police have taken out warrants for Cordalro Strickland, who is wanted in the killing of Melvin "Brando" Fennell at Fennell's home at 818 Arlington Ave., according to police spokeswoman Sgt. Jerri Weary.

On July 3, Fennell was shot as many as three times in the thigh and leg area, resulting in his bleeding to death while in surgery at Erlanger hospital, according to a Hamilton County medical examiner's report.

Two others, Calvin Garner, 24, and Mariah Stoudemire, 21, also were wounded in the shooting but survived.
