Gail Palmgren, 44, of 40 Ridgerock Drive, was last seen April 30.
Her husband, Matthew Palmgren, reported her missing two days later to the Signal Mountain Police Department.
Two weeks later, the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office began investigating her disappearance and the FBI offered to lend its resources, said Special Agent Edward Galloway of the FBI's Chattanooga office.
The FBI is not taking a lead role in the investigation, Galloway said, but is offering technical support and letting local authorities access its lab to process any evidence collected in the case.
"We'll help in any way we can and lend any assets," he said.
The federal agency also is reviewing the case along with Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, which came onboard earlier this month.
After almost three months, it's unclear what happened to Gail Palmgren. Her red Rubicon Jeep remains missing, and she has not used her credit cards since she last was seen, authorities said.
But there has not been enough evidence to decide if there is foul play involved, authorities said, and it remains a missing person case.
Matthew Palmgren has consented to searches of the couple's Signal Mountain home, their Alabama lake house and a Red Bank storage unit, but he has not given a statement to authorities.
