A man whom police say beat and choked his girlfriend and held her at gunpoint is this week’s Crime Stoppers target.

According to a news release, Chattanooga police were called to 5407 Lee Ave. on July 8, where a woman said her boyfriend slapped and choked her. When she tried to leave, she said, he pulled her into the house, grabbed a gun and pointed it at her head until they fell asleep.

The woman said she eventually got away and called police.

Now, Marcus Goree, 28, is wanted on charges of aggravated assault and false imprisonment.

Goree is 6 feet tall and 220 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. He lives at 5407 Lee Ave. but also spends time in South Chattanooga. He has family in Ooltewah and Cleveland, Tenn.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts could be eligible for a confidential cash reward up to $1,000. Call 423-698-3333.
