Sunday, June 5, 2011

Staff Report

Severe thunderstorms are possible throughout Southeast Tennessee through 6 p.m. today, the National Weather Service says.

The severe storm warning is in place for Bradley, Hamilton, Loudon, McMinn, Meigs, Monroe, Morgan, Polk, Rhea, Roane and Scott counties.

Other counties, including Bledsoe and Sequatchie, may see rain and thunderstorms as well, according to weather service bulletins.

Rainfall amounts could range from one-tenth to one-half inch per hour, but could be heavier in places.

The weather service says the storm system will pass through by early evening and no hazardous weather is expected Monday or immediately thereafter.
