Contributed Rendering Hamilton Place mall's new entrance is slated to look like this rendering.
Hamilton Place’s multi-million dollar renovation continues to move forward with construction crews working at night to avoid disrupting customers during the day.
The renovation is scheduled for completion in October.
In the meantime, new tenants continue to move into the mall and it’s fully occupied save for one space, said spokeswoman Catherine Wells.
“It’s probably around 99.8 percent occupied,” she said.
Wells said that Earthbound Trading Co., known for selling eclectic merchandise to earth-conscious shoppers in lively and exotic colors, will open in a 2,746- square-foot space at Hamilton Place in the fall.
The retailer will be the fifth new-to-the-market merchant to open this year at the mall following openings of Teavana, Sephora, Forever 21 and White House Black Market stores.
Along with the new stores, mall workers have painted test swaths on walls and ceilings so that mall owner CBL & Associates can approve a final design, after which the renovation plan will move forward, said Wells.
“Traditionally, malls go through renovation every 10 to 15 years,” Wells said. “It’s been about 12 years since we were last renovated, so it’s time to give it a fresh coat of paint, new carpet and flooring.”
Everything from the bathrooms to the tiles used in food court columns are being redone, but no construction will take place during business hours, she said.
“By the time we open at 10 a.m. in the morning, we’ll be all cleaned up and most people won’t notice anything,” Wells said.
