Chattanooga: Woman sought in second Walgreens robbery in a month

Chattanooga police are seeking a woman in connection with the second robbery of a Walgreens pharmacy in a month.

The Walgreens on Rossville Boulevard was robbed about 9 p.m. Tuesday night when a red-haired woman came to the pharmacy counter and demanded several types of drugs, Chattanooga Police Department spokeswoman Sgt. Jerri Weary said.

The woman passed a note to the pharmacists detailing which drugs she wanted, Weary said. While the pharmacist was reading the note, he noticed a large bulge on her hip, he told police.

After the pharmacist filled a bag with the drugs, the woman fled the store and headed east on 48th Street, she said.

On May 24, a similar-looking woman believed to be the same person robbed the Walgreens on East Brainerd Road, Weary said.

The woman who committed Tuesday's robbery was described as about 5 feet, 7 inches tall, and weighing less than 150 pounds with red or auburn hair.

She was wearing a gray T-shirt, blue jeans and appeared to be in her mid 30's or early 40's, police were told.
