Lookouts erupt in eighth, defeat Braves 7-1

PEARL, Miss. - The Chattanooga Lookouts defeated the Mississippi Braves 7-1 in Southern League baseball Thursday night.

Chattanooga starting pitcher Chris Withrow allowed three hits and one run while striking out six in six innings before being replaced by Kenley Jansen, who struck out the side in the seventh in his major league rehab. Elian Herrera broke a 1-1 tie earlier in the seventh when his sacrifice fly to right field scored Brad Coon.

The Lookouts (29-32) broke it open in the eighth on Alfredo Silverio's single to left that scored Jaime Pedroza and Matt Wallach and Brian Cavazos-Galvez's double to left that scored Wilberto Ortiz and Silverio. Pedroza went 4-for-5 and scored twice.

Game two of a five-game series is tonight at 8:05 EDT. Will Savage (6-2, 3.47 ERA) is the scheduled starting pitcher for the Lookouts, with Randall Delgado (4-3, 3.51) scheduled for the Braves.
