The University of Georgia picked up a pair of in-state commitments for its 2012 football signing class this weekend, receiving nonbinding pledges from Cartersville punter Colin Barber and Blackshear fullback Quayvon Hicks.
Hicks, a 6-foot-2, 245-pounder, also has scholarship offers from Georgia Tech, Miami and Tennessee, according to Rivals.com. The offer was the first for Barber, a 6-2, 185-pounder.
Georgia now has eight commitments for the '12 class, including seven from the Peach State. The Bulldogs also have commitments from a kicker and a punter, who each will have the chance to start as freshmen following the departures of current UGA seniors Blair Walsh and Drew Butler.
