A 9-year-old boy was struck by a car this afternoon on Dodds Avenue, police said.
The boy, whose name has not been released, was taken to Erlanger hospital for shoulder and back injuries, but his current condition is unknown, said Chattanooga police spokeswoman Sgt. Jerri Weary.
The accident occurred at 903 Dodds Ave., she said. Witnesses told police the boy was struck as he crossed lanes of traffic on a bike. The car continued on, dragging the bike as it left the scene, Weary said.
